A group of companies, piperos and distributors of liquefied petroleum gas (LP) demanded the dismissal of Adrián Hernández Romero, General Coordinator of Civil Protection and Comprehensive Risk Management of the State of Mexico, due to the operation of 619 clandestine gases in Ecatepec, Chalco, La Paz, Chimalhuacán, Nezahualcóyotl, San Vicente Chicoloapan and Ixtapaluca.

The request for dismissal of the official seeks to be delivered at a meeting with Delfina Gómez, governor of the entity, where 6 out of 10 gases operate clandestinely and without respecting regulation and permits.

The complainants accused alleged acts of corruption among officials of the Civil Protection Coordination because they have not been closed from clandestine gases.

Rodrigo, a LP gas delivery man from the East zone, said that clandestine gas stood puts companies, distributors and piperos at risk, because “those mafias already want to establish their routes and if any of us distributes where they believe we should not sell, they attack us, they add us and even steal us.”

“We are denouncing things in time before the situation exceeds what we live in and that we go from the blows, the stones and the threats to be killed to a partner,” said Rodrigo, who asked not to reveal their surnames for security.

“They are even asking us for floor rights, if we want to go through some of the routes that we, who work legally, have already been for years,” he said.

Last week, the deliverymen demonstrated in front of the offices of the Ministry of Energy to demand that the price of energy be even, and that guarantee security before the incursion of mafias and clandestine gas. So far they have not had a response from the federal authority.

“We have already taken to the streets and they ignore us, we have another stronger movement scheduled to pay attention to us,” he said.

“We also seek to clean Civil Protection of the State of Mexico, that Adrián Hernández Romero renounces because he and his staff are responsible for the growth of clandestine gas and for that corruption inside, our work and our integrity is at risk,” he added.

The dissatisfied seek to continue with other marches and protests in the next few days.
