Globe Life plans to relocate its headquarters to an office building it bought in McKinney, further expanding its presence in the city’s rapidly growing business district.
The company purchased the 200,000-square-foot office building at 7677 Henneman Way, along with 9 acres of adjacent land, the Dallas Business Journal reported. The price wasn’t disclosed.
The seller was Florida-based financial services firm SouthState Corporation. Cushman & Wakefield’s Campbell Puckett, Ryan Hoopes, Bill McClung, Tucker Hume, Zach Bean and Chris Taylor represented Globe Life and SouthState Bank in the transaction.Â
Globe Life plans to relocate its 3,000-plus employees to the six-story building, which is 10 minutes from its current headquarters at 3700 South Stonebridge Drive, a building Globe Life also owns.Â
The acquisition offers a fitness center, food and beverage stations and a 350-person conference center. The property is part of the McKinney Corporate Center at Craig Ranch, a master-planned community with 4,500 residential units, offices, retail and outdoor amenities.Â
Globe Life’s relocation within McKinney highlights the company’s long-term investment in the fast-growing Dallas suburb.Â
McKinney is one of the most sought-after submarkets in the metroplex, located about 30 minutes north of downtown Dallas. It is the third-largest city in Collin County, following Plano and Frisco. McKinney has seen a population increase of over 19,000 residents over the last five years. This rapid growth has attracted several large development projects to the city.Â
Among them is Cannon Development’s Cannon Beach, a $200 million surf park at the northeast corner of Stacy Road and Texas 121. The project will feature a 4-acre lagoon, a hotel, retail areas, restaurants and 100,000 square feet of office space, developed in partnership with the local economic development corporations.
Additionally, Transcontinental Realty Investors is working on the Merano, a 216-unit multifamily development at Heritage Drive and Pearson Avenue, which is slated for completion later this year.
