President Claudia Sheinbaum led the signing of the decree for the creation of the Acapulco-Coyuca Comprehensively Planned Center, which will have an investment of 8 billion pesos.

The center is a figure of tourism promotion with which the country’s large tourist cities develop.

Initially, the port will receive an investment of 800 million pesos from Fonatur, port authorities said.

Among the works to be carried out after the decree, there is a major rehabilitation of roads and public access to beaches, underground placement of electrical installations, modernization of public lighting, installation of urban furniture and beautification of the city.

Sebastián Ramírez Mendoza, Undersecretary of Tourism and in charge of the economic, cultural and social reactivation of Acapulco, said that a comprehensive revitalization of the entire Historic Bay of Acapulco will also be carried out, where a cultural, artistic, commercial, tourist and historical circuit will be created. with an extension of 5 kilometers.

This new circuit will begin at the cruise ship dock in the Administration of the Acapulco National Port System, he detailed.

At the same time, he added that this port center will be completely rehabilitated with an investment of more than 300 million pesos by the Secretary of the Navy.

The National Water Commission (Conagua), for its part, will make a historic investment of 7,940 million pesos in the port over the next six years, said Ramírez.

“In 2025 alone (Conagua) will invest 1.8 billion pesos in works to improve the drinking water and sanitation system of the City of Acapulco,” he stated.

In the next 6 years, the official also announced, the Maritime Collective Transportation System “Maribus” will be built in Acapulco, a network of bicycle lanes, free internet will be installed on the beaches and two new Protected Natural Areas will be created, the Coyuca Lagoon System. -Tres Palos and Puerto Marqués Complex.
