EFE.- The Argentine Fito Páez will offer a free concert on January 18 in the Zócalo of the Mexican capital, the most important public and political square in Mexico, after its cancellation last September due to the fracture of five ribs, reported this Friday the Government of Mexico City.

In a statement, the capital Government, through the Ministry of Culture, reported the rescheduling of the concert that was initially scheduled for September 7.

“Fito Páez, fundamental musician and singer-songwriter of Latin American rock. With 28 albums, three novels, two films as a screenwriter and director, 11 Latin Grammy Awards and a Grammy, Páez is more than a musician: he is a storyteller, an icon who has marked generations with his art. “Don’t miss this historic event with rock!” was noted in the statement.

Páez, 61, broke five ribs on September 1, 2024 in a domestic accident, which is why he had to cancel all his performances, including those in Mexico and Colombia, at the Cordillera Festival.

“Fito Páez suffered a domestic accident that resulted in the fracture of five ribs. After being evaluated by specialist doctors, he has been ordered to rest completely,” said the artist’s press agent in a statement.

The presentation of the Argentine musician, who was in Mexico City in March 2024 at the Ibero-American Festival of Musical Culture Vive Latino 2024, is part of a series of activities organized by the Ministry of Culture of the capital within the festivities at the beginning of 2025.
