The Ministry of Economy reported that it initiated an ‘anti -dumping’ investigation into cartoncillo imports from China

The ‘antidumping’ is a measure that applies to prevent companies from exporting products at low prices, in order to damage the local industry.

In a statement, the agency indicated that this Thursday published in the Official Gazette of the Federation (DOF) the resolution by which the request of the interested party is accepted and the beginning of the administrative procedure of ‘anti -dumping’ research on the imports of the imports of cartoncillo originating from the People’s Republic of China, regardless of the country of origin.

The Secretariat determined “initiate the ‘anti -dumping’ investigation, since based on the arguments and evidence provided by the applicant Mexican producers,“ it was concluded that there are indications that, during the period investigated, the imports of cartoncillo originating in China They were carried out in alleged price discrimination conditions and caused a threat of damage to the Mexican production branch. ”

The statement pointed out that with the resolution “a timely defense to the productive plant against unfair imports” is provided, and Mexican producers, importers and exporters who are interested in the result of the investigation are summoned, as well as the Chinese government, to present the arguments and evidence that suits their right in the defense of their interests.

In the resolution, it is specified that, from August 2019 to July 2024, the complainants were noticed on the high volumes of mapping originally from China, at low prices compared to the cost of Mexican production.
