The governor of Baja California, Marina del Pilar Ávila, rejected press versions that he has bank accounts in the United States and that they were canceled.
“From yesterday, journalists and media spread a lie. I reiterate for them and people there are no accounts abroad,” he said on Network X.
The Morenista governor said yesterday that the cancellation of her American visa was for an administrative measure, and that there was no crime against her.
“That the United States Department of State has canceled my visa does not mean that I have committed something bad,” he said in a message to media accompanied by members of his cabinet.
Her husband Carlos Torres, who is coordinator of regeneration of public spaces in the state government, was also canceled the visa, however, in yesterday’s message the governor only talked about her.

President Claudia Sheinbaum stated on Tuesday that the United States embassy in Mexico only reported that it was a personal matter and that the Mexican government has not received more information.
“By the way, I do want to clarify because yesterday some media spread that there was a freezing of accounts. We talked to the governor, and the governor told us that she has no accounts abroad, that is information from the governor,” said the president at her daily press conference.
