A Federal Grand Jury charged James B. Comment, former director of the Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) on Thursday, who investigated President Donald Trump for the possible links of Russia with his 2016 campaign.
Although the charges have not yet been publicly revealed, sources from the Department of Justice indicated to US media that the Grand Jury accused Com Comey of a crime of false declaration and a crime of obstruction.
The Department of Justice presented the case just days ago, after Trump urged the Attorney General, Pam Bondi, to act against political opponents.
The administration considers that Comey’s behavior in social networks and in public statements could constitute an abuse of his position, while supporters of the former director qualify the accusation as politically motivated.
