Swedish activist Greta Thunberg left Israel on Tuesday after accepting to be deported after the national authorities intercept the Madleen ship of the Freedom Flotilla, in which he was traveling to Gaza, the Israeli Foreign Ministry reported.
“Greta Thunberg has just taken from Israel on a flight to Sweden (via France),” exterior announced in a statement on Tuesday morning.
Exteriors spread two photographs in the social network X of the activist aboard a plane at the Israeli International Airport in Ben Gurion.
Thunberg is one of the four activists (of a total of 12) who have accepted being deported by Israel, together with the Spanish Sergio Toribio. Eight others refused to sign the papers to be expelled by Israel and will pass this morning by the Court of Review of Detentions for Immigration to decide on their departure from the country.
The four activists who agreed to return to their countries have already reached their destinations or are on their way to them, announced the organization of Palestine Legal Assistance in Israel Adalah, whose lawyers are part of the legal team of the flotilla.
“The remaining eight are still detained and challenge their deportation before an Israeli court. They are expected that these detainees will be taken before the Court of Review of Immigration Detentions this morning,” said an Adalah statement.

The organization assured that its lawyers are directed to the prison of Givon, in Ramla (center of Israel), to represent them in the audiences.
Among those who refuse to travel back to their countries are the French-Palestine Rima Hassan, a member of the European Parliament, the Israeli public chain Kan reported.
The Fleeta de la Libertad, aboard the Madleen ship, was heading to the Gaza Strip with humanitarian aid with the aim of breaking the blockade imposed by Israel to the access of basic goods (such as food, food or fuel) to the enclave.
On March 2, Israel launched a total blockade at the entrance of humanitarian aid to Gaza, which ended on May 19 with the entrance of some trucks loaded, mostly, with flour and other foods.
However, international organizations denounce that the help that has accessed Gaza since then is very insufficient to supply a population of 2.1 million people who had submitted to food deprivation almost three months.
The Israeli authorities intercepted the Madleen in the early hours of Monday, in an act that the legal team of the flotilla qualifies as illegal since the boat was still in international waters.
In addition, one of the spokesmen of the legal team of the Flotilla, Loubna Tuma, told Efe yesterday that the illegal base act is Israel’s own blockade at the entrance of help for the Gazaties.
