Swedish activist Greta Thunberg denounced on Monday that “Israel is trying to eliminate an entire population”, upon arrival at the Athens airport with a group of 135 members of the Global Sumud Sumud Flotilla that have been deported by Israel after having been arrested when they sailed towards the strip.
“I could speak for a long time about the ill -treatment and abuse we suffered during our imprisonment, but that is not the story,” said Thunberg before the media at the airport, where the members of the flotilla were received by hundreds of people with Palestinian flags and banners against the “genocide.”
The Swedish activist said that the international community must focus that “while Israel intensified her genocide and mass destruction” to try to “eliminate an entire population,” he violated international law by preventing the humanitarian aid that carried the flotilla from entering the enclave where, he said, “people are starving.”
The Israel Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced in its ‘χ’ account that deported this Friday to “171 provocatives of the Hamas-Sumud Flotilla” on flights to Greece and Slovakia.
The deportees are citizens of Greece, Italy, France, Ireland, Sweden, Poland, Germany, Bulgaria, Lithuania, Austria, Luxembourg, Finland, Denmark, Slovakia, Switzerland, Norway, United Kingdom, Serbia and the United States.

‘No cooperation with Israel’s murderous state’
“No corner of the world is free without a free Palestine” and “No cooperation with the murderous state of Israel” could be read in one of the banners that the protesters raised inside the airport.
Many of the activists, including Thunberg, will spend the night in Athens, since there are no flights on Monday towards their countries of origin.
Thunberg pointed out in his statements that states have the legal obligation to act to prevent a genocide from producing, which means “ending complicity, exerting real pressure and stopping arms transfers” to Israel.
“We are not seeing that, we are not seeing the minimum by our governments. Our international systems are betraying the Palestinians,” the activist accentuated, who added that he will never understand “how human beings can be so evil as deliberately killing millions of people.”
