The aerospace industry in Mexico is larger than the tequilera and avocatera together, and is reflected in exports of 11 billion dollars made by manufacturers of airplanes and helicopters, according to Disraeli Gómez Herrera, director of the Mexican Aerospace Fair (FAMX).
“For those years (from the first edition of the FAMX), 4 billion dollars (from parts of the aerospace industry) were exported, now 11 billion dollars are exported,” he said.

The aerospace industry exports twice the tequila sales abroad, four times the commercialized avocados to the outside, added the excommond nave in the air squads 202, 203, 204 and 401 to Forbes Mexico.
In 2024, avocado exports were 3,786 million dollars, especially made to the United States, according to Banco de México (Banxico).
Tequila producers sold more than 4,280 million pesos to the United States, Canada, Europe and Asia.

In its sixth edition, the FAMEX will commemorate the 110th anniversary of the Mexican Air Force, the 80th anniversary of the consummation of World War II, Space Day and the tenth anniversary of the Mexico Aerospace Fair. The guest country will be Brazil.
Every two years, industry representatives in Mexico and global level join the fair.
The Mexican Aerospace Fair has an open call, but “we have already confirmed the participation of 30 countries, representatives of aircraft manufacturers such as Airbus, Safran, Bell, Honeywell, Boeing, SAP, Embraer will be present,” says the Sedena official.
“There will be 30 countries, about 500 exhibitors and business day will attend 80 companies and we conclude with the air show that is the last day,” he said.
“It is difficult to quantify the business opportunities generated by the Mexican Aerospace Fair, but 14 percent of the annual growth of the industry, the FAMX contributes 4 percent or 5 percent in terms of the businesses generated,” he said.
He added that the processes of investment attraction of the aerospace industry are long -term, so it is difficult to measure everything in a single event, and that they begin talks in the FAMX, where representatives of federative entities arrive in search of investors to do business.

He added that the Mexican Federation of the Aerospace Industry and the clusters helped map the presence of 400 companies with operations in Mexico.
