“Of course we support the president (Claudia Sheinbaum). We are not a group that sings.
In addition, the vocalist said “not wanting to join the genre or put against” corridos, a controversial musical genre for their great popularity in Mexico and the inclusion of celebrations of the narco culture and its leaders
“It is something that does not happen to us and what we are not in. We are not going for that line. We stay on the sidelines and continue to make the music that Grupo firm has always done,” said the member of the Natural Group of Tijuana.
This Monday, Sheinbaum presented the musical initiative ‘Mexico sings and loves’, a contest that will include young people from the country as well as those living in the United States, and seeks to promote music without violence, and fight addictions in the midst of an insecurity wave linked to the narco that some areas of Mexico live.

Change the narrative a little
The group manager founded in 2014, Isael Gutiérrez, consulted for the elaboration of the program promoted by the administration of Sheinbaum, commented that “the artist is free to express himself”, but that the intention is not “censor the music” but “change the narrative a little” and “discover new talents.”
Next June, the Mexican regional music band will beat a new record at the GNP Seguros stadium (formerly Forum Sol), being the Mexican group that has most times the enclosure of 65,000 people with its eighth and ninth concert.

This tour will also present the second album of the group, ‘Evolution’, which they have been preparing for several years and will have collaborations such as the artist Gloria Trevi, because the group argues that it is time to “do something different” and “stop thinking that this is a dream.”
