Guerrero exceeded the expectations of the Winter Holiday Season by presenting an influx of 514,605 visitors and an economic benefit of 3,201 million pesos, Simón Quiñones Orozco, state Secretary of Tourism, said this Monday.
“The destinations of the home of the Sun obtained a hotel occupancy of 76.04% on a general average, with January 1, 2025 being the day with the highest lodging rate, reaching 94.6%,” said the official.
Guerrero’s promotion strategy is working, he highlighted, because after two hurricanes the recovery and the result of this winter vacation season is historic.

Martin Kendrik Berguer, president of the Taxco Lodging Service Tax Administration Trust, announced that this season the silver city obtained 44.99% in lodging, 72,155 in visitor influx and 167 million pesos in revenue. economical.
In turn, Luis Castañeda Muñoz, president of the Ixtapa – Zihuatanejo Hotel Association, explained that the combination achieved an average of 82.59% occupancy, with 136,981 visitors and a spill of 1,177 million pesos.
Meanwhile, José Luis Smithers Jiménez, president of the Association of Hotels and Tourist Companies of Acapulco, announced that this beach destination had a successful season by reporting a general occupancy of 74.14% average, an influx of 305,469 tourists and a spill economic of 1,856 million pesos.
Operation was deployed to protect visitors
For the closing of the winter vacation season, which officially was this January 5, the Guerrero authorities deployed an operation that protected the return of tourists to their places of origin.
The operation deployed was called Carrusel, and according to state authorities, it maintained surveillance on the main communication routes of Guerrero, as well as aerial patrol to monitor vehicle flow and prevent accidents.
The State Police, State Transit, the Secretariat of Comprehensive Risk Management and Civil Protection, as well as the Aeromobile Unit, participated in the operation.
Likewise, patrols and rescue units with speed radars were deployed along the Autopista del Sol and on other strategic roads in the state.
