Mexican director Guillermo del Toro presented his most recent film ‘Frankenstein’ this Monday on a red carpet in Mexico City, along with actors Oscar Isaac and Jacob Elordi.
The film, which premieres this Friday, November 7 on Netflix, is based on the famous novel by Mary Shelley, with the characteristic cinematographic style of the Mexican director that mixes horror, fantasy and exuberant and personal visual imagery.
Oscar Isaac plays the iconic role of Victor Frankenstein, while Elordi is the monster, both as protagonists.
The cast also highlights Mia Goth, who plays Elizabeth Lavenza, in addition to actors Felix Kammerer, David Bradley, Lars Mikkelsen and Christian Convery.

The protagonists of ‘Frankenstein’ paraded today with Del Toro at the San Ildefonso School in the Mexican capital, where they were received with shouts and applause from those in attendance.
“Guillermo, I love you!” was heard among the audience, who applauded the director as he entered the venue.
In addition to the photo session on the carpet, the Mexican director greeted and signed autographs to the fans who attended the event organized by Netflix, where a special screening of the film was held.
Although many fans stayed outside the venue, Del Toro did not stop greeting them, autographing books and taking selfies with them, before crossing the carpet.
The Mexican director, author of ‘The Devil’s Backbone’ (2001) and ‘Pan’s Labyrinth’ (2006), has declared on numerous occasions that ‘Frankenstein’ is the most important book of his life and has worked for decades on its ideal adaptation.
Del Toro’s ‘Frankenstein’ debuted at the Venice Film Festival on August 30, and since then it has been screened in some cinemas and cultural forums in different countries.
In Mexico, the film will be screened in selected theaters and cultural venues such as the Cineteca Nacional, where screenings have been held since October 23 prior to its premiere on the streaming platform.
