The Secretary of the Treasury of Mexico, Edgar Amador, said Friday that Pemex aspires to return to capital markets for medium -term financing and when there are conditions to do so.

Pemex has a financial debt of 101,000 million dollars and several years ago does not directly resort to the markets to raise funds for the high costs that represent the state.

“We have to have a conversation with the market, with investors, eventually, in the medium term, not at this time. At this time there are no better conditions for that to happen,” he said in an interview with Bloomberg Line.

“What we have to do is build those conditions for the company to resort to capital markets,” he added. When asked if I was not ruled out to go to those markets, he replied: “That is aspiration.”
