Almost a week after the lifeless discovery of 11 members of a family in Chilpancingo, Guerrero, the federal government reported that investigations are still ongoing. In addition, it was revealed that they have already identified the criminal group responsible for this crime.

On November 12, the head of the Secretariat of Security and Citizen Protection (SSPC), Omar García Harfuch, indicated that the identity of the 11 victims – among whom are two women, four minors and five men – had already been confirmed. who were found dead last Friday.

At the morning press conference, the official highlighted that security has been reinforced in the area after the “unfortunate events” that occurred.

García Harfuch also indicated that the criminal organization behind this crime is the same one that was involved in the murder of Alejandro Arcos Catalán, the mayor of Chilpancingo, which occurred on October 6.

“We are in coordination with the State Prosecutor’s Office, also of course the Attorney General’s Office (FGR) is helping. The Sedena made a very important deployment in Tixtla, Chilapa and Quechultenango. Regarding the investigation, we have identified the group it is,” he said.

In this context, García Harfuch indicated that the criminal organization responsible for this crime is the same one that was also behind the murder of Alejandro Arcos Catalán, mayor of Chilpancingo, which occurred on October 6.

Although the head of the SSPC did not offer more details about his statement, it is relevant to mention that days before, the commander of the 35 Military Zone, Jorge Pedro Nieto Sánchez, informed the media that the 11 victims had been kidnapped by the criminal group. “The Ardillos.” This group operates in various regions of Guerrero, including Chilpancingo, Chilapa, Mochitlán and Quechultenango.
