Hedge funder Marc Lasry is looking to ghost the fictional Shandor Building from “Ghostbusters.”

The Avenue Capital Group co-founder and former owner of the NBA’s Milwaukee Bucks listed his penthouse unit at 55 Central Park West for $42 million, Crain’s reported. The listing for the co-op breaks down to $8,400 per square foot.

Lasry and his wife, Cathy, bought the four-bedroom unit in 2013 for $33 million. Adjusted for inflation, the asking represents a loss from the purchase price. But the listing is the most expensive for a co-op in the city, according to StreetEasy.

The duplex includes 2,200 square feet of terraces, a living room with a fireplace and views of Central Park, a primary suite with a dressing room and a library with a bar and high ceilings.

The 19-story, 109-unit Art Deco building was constructed in 1930 and received pop culture attention for serving as the Shandor Building in the 1984 supernatural comedy. Amenities at the building include a children’s playroom and a roof deck.

Douglas Elliman’s Alan Nickman and Stephen O’Neal share the listing with a Compass team including Allison Chiaramonte.

Avenue Capital launched in 1995 and manages more than $10 billion in assets across the globe. Lasry also partnered on the purchase of a stake in the Bucks for $550 million in 2014. In 2023 — two years after the Bucks ended a half-century championship drought — Lasry sold his stake to the Haslams in a deal valuing the franchise at $3.5 billion.

In 2019, the billionaire sold a $9.5 million, one-bedroom, two-bathroom apartment at 812 Fifth Avenue to William Reeves, co-founder of hedge fund BlueCrest Capital Management.

The year prior, Lasry sold his six-story townhouse at 4 East 74th Street for $31.5 million to an anonymous buyer. It was originally listed for $39 million and later chopped to $35 million, but it’s unclear how much Lasry bought it for in the first place.
