The Dutch brewer Heineken announced that he will buy the beverage and retail businesses of Florida Ice and Farm Company for 3.2 billion dollars in cash, thus reinforcing its presence in Central America.
With this operation, Heineken will obtain the property of the national beer of Costa Rica, “Imperial”, with more than a century of antiquity, as well as a non -alcoholic beverage business with its own brands and a Pepsico bottling license.
The company noted that the transaction, which is expected to be completed in the first half of 2026, will have an immediate positive effect on its operational margin and in its profits per action, before exceptional items.
