36 years ago, a Mexican was born who, since his youth, I trust that art had the power to get very far and his music has succeeded. His name is Óscar Armando Díaz de León Huez, better known as Carín Leónwho will become the first Latin American to appear at the enclosure of the Spherein Las Vegas.
“I feel nervous, I’m not going to lie to you. (Sphere) is the venue most important in the world right now. It has been a job of many things: of expansion, not all the time to seek to do hitsbut, in a way, to gain respect to be in this place. It has been an arduous work of the team and from me also to be able to reach this great scenario that is the sphere and for nosostros is something that fills us with great pride: being the first Mexican and the first Latin to present itself in this venue”, Says, in an interview, Carín León.
AEG Present will produce 3 shows by the Mexican artist in the American enclosure as part of the annual celebration of Mexico’s Independence Day in Las Vegas, September 11, 12 and 13, 2026.
Lee: Mexican music has ‘an entire world to conquer’
In this sense, the artist originally from Hermosillo, Sonora, promises a great production that “throws the house through the window”, to do something different on stage and give life to the successes that have allowed him to conquer his audience inside and outside of Mexico.
This 2026, “we will allow us to demonstrate what we are made of: from our genres and artists like me, from Mexico, we can offer the world,” says the interpreter of the song First appointment.
León knows that many Mexicans spend complex moments in the American Union, due to the immigration policy of President Donald Trump and knows that his musical work can be the best contribution to offer, taking Mexican culture to his people on the other side of the border and wants music to be a bridge that union and inspiration.
The winner of Grammy and Latin Grammy has also conquered other musical scenarios in the United States, such as the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville. Also in March 2025 he made history by becoming the first Mexican artist to act on the main stage of the renowned RodeoHouston, in addition to marking a historical audience record for a Hispanic artist by gathering more than 70,000 people.
In the past, Carín only imagined with arriving the nightclubs and filling them, but his heart led him to hold on to make the music he wanted and not necessarily the one who asked for the market, which has allowed him not only to deepen the Mexican regional, but also in genres such as rock, pop, sauce or country, for example.
“I have lived collecting sounds in my head, collecting music,” says the Mexican singer -songwriter.
Carín knows that many of the local sounds were very marginalized by the industry and their interest was always opening new horizons for music and exponents of the Mexican regional.

For 3 months, Carín has changed part of his social habits, to find a break and meet again “With the nose that I wanted to make music” and advance in professional projects for 2026.
The artist has faced himself to be a person with greater public recognition, which also faces it to constant criticism, but knows that this facet is also part of the successful careers. “Also one of the characteristics that I have has been to try to bother a little and make people question if it is good or simply different,” he says.
This month, Forbes Mexico has published the first edition of the special Latin Powerwhich seeks to recognize Latin American artists and Carín León is one of the characters listed in this editorial exercise. “Our music began to be disruptive and to get out of the mold, to stop meeting the expectations of the small filters there were and when they began to see that we are more Mexican than ever. I think they gave us an empowerment as Latinos that today does not allow us to see that we step on heavy,” he says.
Clarín León treasures several memories in his artistic career, but, today, one year after introducing himself at the Sphere de Las Vegas, he remembers the day he appeared at the palenque of his native Hermosillo and saw the place crowded by his audience, as well as fulfilling the dream of playing in the RodeoHouston. “Culturally has always been my banner to break barriers and unify everyone for music,” He says, with a brief smile.
