IncMTY plans to leave an economic benefit of 60 million pesos

IncMTY returns this year, but now with two events focused on investment, innovation and entrepreneurship, which will leave an approximate economic impact of 60 million pesos (mdp).

This was stated at a press conference by Ignacio de la Vega, vice president of Global Affairs at Tecnológico de Monterrey, Thomas Michael Hogg, CEO of incMTY, Nasser Mohamed Noriega, director of Innovation and Development of Technological Models at the Autonomous University of Nuevo León, Maricarmen Martínez, Secretary of Tourism of the state, and Ivan Rivas, Secretary of Economy of Nuevo León.

However, this figure could be higher due to the investments and entrepreneurs that arrive later.

On November 13 and 14, the first edition of the incMTY Summit will be held, a business, innovation and investment summit, which will serve as a prelude to the incMTY Festival, which will take place from March 18 to 20 of next year.

“We want to influence economic development, innovation, and at the end of the day we created this forum so that businessmen, businesswomen, company directors, important entrepreneurs, women in leadership and also the government have a meeting point where we talk about different topics and with that we amplify the topic of development,” mentions the CEO of incMTY in an interview with Forbes.

The incMTY Summit will have as its main topics open innovation, economic development, industries of the future, investment in Mexico, links with Texas, women in leadership, Artificial Intelligence and talent of the future. The guest country will be the United States.

“They are going to create spaces of value for the entire entrepreneurial ecosystem here in the state of Nuevo León,” says Nasser Mohamed.

“(The incMTY Summit) is a joint effort between academia, government and private initiatives to promote entrepreneurs in Mexico and Latin America. This is a strategic collaboration that will be key to strengthening our innovative and entrepreneurial ecosystem. It will join forces between institutions and strengthen the sustainable economic development of Nuevo León. Our interest is to increase competitiveness and place Nuevo León and Mexico on the world map of entrepreneurship,” adds the Secretary of Economy.

For the Summit, an influx of 1,000 people is expected, while for the festival at least 10,000 are expected with a goal of 20,000, so this alliance seeks to ensure that Nuevo León not only continues to position itself within the entrepreneurial ecosystem and promote business tourism. , gastronomic, health, among others.

By 2025, according to Thomas Michael Hogg, it will be decided whether the Summit will be held annually. “We are going to decide by 2025 if we continue with this or if we later integrate the Summit on the same date as the festival and hold a single event, starting in 2026,” he says.

“And at the end of the day it is a job for the entire ecosystem, to position ourselves as Mexico, that there is talent here, we have a demographic dividend, the world is turning towards Mexico due to its strategic location and we have to hold those types of events where we really put “Mexican talent is highlighted,” explains Thomas.

incMTY was born in 2013 in Monterrey, Nuevo León. The incMTY platform is part of the Tecnológico de Monterrey and throughout 11 editions it has brought together more than 90 thousand attendees from more than 40 countries.
