The Confederation of Industrial Chambers (Concamin) asked the government of Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo to stop the murder of cargo vehicle operators in Mexico and the theft of goods on the country’s roads and cities.
“We have gone from thefts to the transportation of goods, to the direct impact of collaborators (operators), resulting in the loss of human life, which is unacceptable,” declared the organization directed by Alejandro Malagón Barragán.
For industrialists, it is essential to bring the necessary supplies for the development of daily life to each point where the client and society require them, but “it is essential that our collaborators can carry out their activities safely, without fear of reprisals or attacks that attack his person.”
On Thursday afternoon, almost simultaneously, the drivers of two delivery trucks from the Corona brewery and Fud processed foods and a vehicle from the Coca Cola soft drink company were attacked with bullets in different acts of violence recorded in Acapulco, Guerrero. After the attacks, it was reported that two collaborators lost their lives, while another was injured and is hospitalized.

“Faced with this situation, from Concamin, the chambers and associations that comprise it, we condemn and demand that the authorities clarify the events in which employees of companies in the municipality of Acapulco lost their lives,” he stated.
According to a report by Skyangel, the ‘modus operandi’ of criminals is no longer limited only to the theft of units and merchandise, but there has also been an alarming increase in kidnappings and murders of operators.
Criminals place large stones on the road to prevent vehicles from traveling, said the company in charge of offering security services to companies.
“There are cartels related to this type of illicit activities such as the Jalisco Nueva Generación Cartel, which have information on the schedules, routes and rest periods of the operators,” said the company, which indicated that during December more than 40 robberies were recorded. daily on the roads.
Thefts from carriers were recorded in El Triángulo Rojo, a region of Puebla, as well as on highways in Veracruz, San Luis Potosí, Guanajuato, Michoacán and Jalisco.

“The vehicles and truck tractors are closed to the transport to force them to brake, then they hook the load to the tractor used to block the passage, taking the load. But if they do not stop, they shoot directly at the operator,” said Skyangel.
It is striking that in the records of robberies and violence against cargo operators and merchandise delivery people, Acapulco or Guerrero does not appear as a risk area or a red light.
Even so, Concamin requested an urgent meeting with the ministries of the Interior, and of Security and Citizen Protection, so that in coordination with other authorities, specific investigative actions can be implemented to prevent these crimes from going unpunished.
“It is essential that the rule of law prevails in Mexico and that the authorities address this situation, since the damage goes beyond the material,” stated the industrial organization.
