I was fortunate to be invited to the work table called Levelup, Industry 4.0 and Video Games, organized by Valencia Game City In the city of Valencia, Spain.

It is interesting to see how video games become more and more part of a global industry not only entertaining but also of technology and Industrial processes, education, culture, medicine, and even government.

From government investment proposals in strengthening “startups” in the sector to private companies developing “Digital Twins” and replicas of cities within video game engines, the video game sector is taking a very important direction for Spain and the EU.

I have only to think about how important it would be for Mexico to achieve this same interest rate, inertia and action within the sector, since both Spain and Mexico are countries with great affinity to the environment.

The interest that a city like Valencia, which could be considered a girl for cities standards in Mexico, the development and investment in specialized “hubs” such as Valencia Game City and clarity in need of generating economic results In this sector nationally and internationally it is something that we still have to achieve in a country like Mexico.

The arrival of Industry 4.0 can be a new opportunities and of new alliances between industries, companies and even among countries, the focus that can be given to technical tools, added to the experience and creativity of specialized work teams towards a more “professionalized” industry such as engineering, medicine, rural planning, architecture etc. You can undoubtedly create new growth and business opportunities.

Valencia Game City It is a relatively new initiative of the city of Valencia for focusing the talent of the city and foreigners and promoting the ideas that generate the best tracciòn, scale and creativity to achieve a real commercial result, constantly looking for the opportunities and connections that can be specified between companies and industries of the country.

In my short time knowing the Spanish and European industry of immersive video games and technologies reflect on the possibilities that are for Mexico and their own effortsmost of them emerging from the big cities, where the most relevant to the environment is Guadalajara and I am very excited to think about the possibilities that can be built if we achieve productive strategies and societies in this industry between the two countries.

While video games are the most popular entertainment and communication medium in the world today and only seem to accelerate over time and new technologies, it is also true that their action boss is no longer exclusive to entertainment (although if you ask me, they must always be entertaining and exciting experiences).

Other creative media such as music, cinema, literature, television have served to build new business bridges, productive societies and large companies between different countries and geographies, video games today manage to cross those imaginary borders with more force than any other medium and We get the possibility of taking advantage of this immense opportunity worldwide.

If the software is eating the world, then video games are eating software.
