The National Electoral Institute (INE) of Mexico approved on Thursday the guidelines from which the votes of the Judicial Power of June 1 will be counted and indicated that the results will be announced no later than June 10.
In extraordinary session, the INE General Council approved the guidelines for the preparation and development of district computations, of federative entity, plurinominal and national constituency of the extraordinary electoral process of the Judicial Power of the Federation (PEEPJF) 2024-2025, as well as the design and printing of the corresponding electoral documentation.
“This is an orderly and structured procedure whose premises are to provide legality and certainty to the results of the vote obtained by the candidacies postulated in this extraordinary electoral process,” said Jorge Montaño, president of the temporary commission for this contest.
He added that in these guidelines the advertising of the electoral results is contemplated “as they are generated, this from the digitalization and publication of the minutes of the box in a public portal that will allow their consultation with the citizenship.”
In his speech, Norma de la Cruz, also a member of the aforementioned commission, said that “although this time the Casilla official will not count the votes cast, the citizenship will continue to be those who carry it out now, through the members of each of the councils, of the 300 district councils, which are composed of citizens and citizens”.

He explained that the realization of the computations of the election of the Judicial Branch of the Federation will be carried out “with the same probity and professionalism of always (…) the computations will be carried out expedited and will begin the same night of the election, so that we can have results of the six elections as soon as possible.”
“This is a choice like no other that has been organized in Mexico, or in the world, hence the procedure to count the votes must adapt to their needs and the realities of this process,” he said of the cross.
“It should be clear that the modification of the processes with which the default counting is developed in no way affects the legality, impartiality, objectivity, certainty and independence with which our elections are traditionally carried out,” he added.
