The president advisor of the INE, Guadalupe Taddei, stated that despite the budget cut, all voters for the election of judges will have adequate ballots and conditions to exercise their right to vote, which is why she rejected that the reduction in resources compromises the quality of the process. electoral.
The National Electoral Institute (INE) announced this Thursday that it will adjust the organization of the election of the Judiciary in June 2025, after the cut for next year of more than 13,000 million pesos approved on Wednesday by the Chamber of Deputies.
Taddei assured in a press conference that, despite the reduction, the INE will guarantee a reliable, safe and calm electoral process for citizens.
He explained that the technical areas of the autonomous body are already working on a detailed analysis to determine the necessary adjustments in the structure and operation of the process, prioritizing geographical coverage and the right of citizens to vote.
Among the adjustment measures is the possible installation of a smaller number of voting centers instead of the 172,000 polling stations initially planned.

The hiring of electoral supervisors and trainers will also be reviewed, whose number could be significantly reduced compared to the planned 52,000.
Electoral advisor Arturo Castillo stressed that the budget approved by the Chamber of Deputies affects both the operational base and the project portfolio of the INE.
However, he reiterated the institution’s commitment to fulfilling its mandate, although he recognized that the cut requires restructuring priorities.
Given this scenario, the INE also did not rule out requesting a budget increase from Congress if necessary.
This budget adjustment represents an unprecedented challenge for the INE, which must implement innovations to guarantee the effectiveness of the largest election in its history, even after the presidential election in June 2024.
