The president of FIFA, Gianni Infantino, assured Friday to the president of the United States, Donald Trump, that the US team has the possibility of winning the 2026 World Cup, which will host along with Mexico and Canada.
The American leader invited Infantino to the Oval Office to establish a working group for the 2026 World Cup, which Trump himself will preside.
During the event, Trump asked Infantino: “What team is the favorite right now?”
“Argentina, Brazil, England, Germany, Spain,” replied the Swiss.
Trump insisted: “Can the United States win?”
“The United States can win, with public support. (His players) play in some of the best teams, ”said Infantino.

“So there is a possibility,” Trump said. “Absolutely, there is a possibility,” said Infantino.
The FIFA leader assured that the US team, which has Christian Pulisic as a leader and directs the Argentine Mauricio Pochettino, “is on the rise.”
“They have very, very good players. They are playing in Europe, but we need to bring them back, ”said Infantino, joking with Trump’s strategy to return their industrial power to the United States.
Infantino also referred to the entertainment show that the FIFA prepares for the 2026 World Cup final, similar to the ‘Halftime’ of the Super Bowl.
“We have to do it 20 times better and bigger,” said Infantino.
“I think it will be better,” Trump replied, also with a laugh.
