Inflation in the whole Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) rebounded two tenths in June, to 4.2%, due to the evolution of energy, which in interannual terms was positive again after having been negative the two preceding two months.
Energy prices rose 0.9% between June 2024 and the same month of 2025, when a month before the year -on -year variation had been -0.3%, the OECD announced on Tuesday in a statement.
In June, inflation increased by 21 of the 38 member countries, while the evolution was the opposite in seven, including the four Latin Americans who are part of the organization.
In the case of Costa Rica, inflation was negative of 0.2% (it had already been -0.1% in May) something that did not happen in any of the other members of the OECD.
In Chile, it stayed in 4.1% (three tenths less than in May); in Colombia in 4.8% (three tenths less) and in Mexico in 4.3% (two tenths less).

Inflation in the OECD rebounded two tenths to 4.2% in June because of energy
Inflation rose in June a tenth to 2% in the whole of the euro zone, but within this block in Spain the rise was three tenth to 2.3%, especially since the interannual decrease in energy prices was much less pronounced than in May (-0.5% instead of -2.7%).
In the United States, meanwhile, inflation also increased by three tenths to 2.7%, also because of energy.
Apart from the OECD, among the great emerging economies inflation was only 0.1% in China (it had been -0.1% in May) and up to 39.4% in Argentina, where the downward trend continued (43.5% in May).
