After the clubs established a new record in terms of transfer expenses in 2023 of 9,660 million dollars, the total amount disbursed in 2024 was lower (8,590), but still exceeded in more than 15% the previous record, of 2019, which was 7,330.
Almost 40% of total spending on male professional football corresponded to 2.5% of the largest operations, which led to costs of at least twenty million dollars per transfer.
In 2024, English clubs were both the ones that most spent as the most for transfer costs, with disbursements of 1,880 million dollars in hiring and revenues of 1,340 million for sales or assignments.
The total number of transfers is headed by Brazilian clubs, which signed 1,102 players and sold or yielded to another 1,113.
The number of clubs that invested in signings continued to increase until reaching the record of 1,100 entities in 2024 and similarly the number of clubs that entered money for transferring at least one player, 1,378, was also higher than ever.

Women’s football bats records
In 2024 the clubs also continued to invest in women’s professional football and total spending on signings reached 15.6 million dollars, a record amount that is more than 2.5 times spent in the previous year. 695 clubs (+11.6%) participated in international transfer, of which 109 invested at least one signing (+23.9%) and 124 received indemnities for sales or assignments (+27.8%).
Women’s football registered 2,284 international transfer of professional players, which represents an increase of 20.8% compared to 2023, also increasing to a figure greater than twenty percent for sixth consecutive year and more than triple than in 2018, exercise in which They began to account.
