Tehran, (EFE) .- Iran’s Foreign Minister Abás Araqchí said Tuesday that “there is no agreement on a high fire or a cessation of operations” with Israel, despite the previous announcement of President Donald Trump of a “high total fire” between the two countries.

“At the moment, there is no agreement on a fire or a cessation of operations,” Araqchí said in a message on the social network X. “As I said repeatedly, it was the Israeli regime that began the war, not us,” he added.

However, the Iranian minister opened the door to the possibility of pausing the attacks and assured that if Israel “ends his illegal aggression” against Iran for 4:00 in the morning at local time, Iran “will not have intention of continuing with his response.”

The message was published after 4:00 in the morning, while several Iranian media reported new explosions in areas of Tehran, the capital of the country.

“The final decision of the cessation of military operations will take it later,” Araqchí said.

Shortly after, the Foreign Minister published a new message in which he assured that the Iranian army continued its operations to “punish Israel” until “the last minute at 4:00”.

Three hours before, on Monday afternoon in Washington, Trump had announced on his platform, Truth Social, a ceasefire between Israel and Iran: “Congratulations to all! Israel and Iran have fully agreed that there will be a high total fire (in approximately six hours, when both countries have completed their final missions), for twelve hours, at which time the war will be considered.

The president explained that “officially, Iran will begin the fire” and twelve hours later Israel will begin, so that in about 24 hours “the world will officially announce the end of the 12 -day war.”

His calculations suggest that Tehran will adopt the armistice at 7:30 at the local time of Iran.

Trump’s message was published a few hours after they will attacked American bases in Qatar and Iraq, in retaliation to the bombings that the EU weekend executed on three key facilities of the Iranian nuclear program.

It is believed that the Iranian counterattack was designed to not continue increasing the war escalation in the region, since, in addition to notifying the US in advance of today’s offensive, Iran had already warned days ago that it could bombard US bases in the Middle East if it was attacked by the United States.

This new confrontation between Israel and Iran began on June 13, when the Israeli government launched a military offensive against Iran designed to end its military infrastructure and uranium enrichment.

Since then, Iran and Israel have regularly exchanged drones and missile attacks that have left around 450 people dead in Iran and 24 more in Israel.
