Warning! This post contains SPOILERS for Iron Man #1
Iron Man just debuted a new suit of armor that feels like it should be in a Transformers movie. Featured in an all-new run for the Armored Avenger, you couldn’t ask for a better debut for Tony Stark as he enters an exciting new era of storytelling.
Kicking off 2026 in style, Iron Man #1 by Joshua Williamson and Carmen Carnero has just been released, beginning a new journey as the scientific villain organization known as AIM seeks to “recreate” their very own Tony Stark. However, it certainly looks as though Iron Man has some fresh new armor to not only go on the offensive, but also look good doing it.
Iron Man New Series Has Tony Stark Debuting In Style
As AIM attempts to recreate Tony Stark himself by kidnapping other super-geniuses, Iron Man himself learns of the plot during the “Tony Stark Awards”, a ceremony that saw the billionaire arriving in style with a red-and-gold Stark Hoverbike 3000, a sleek and very cool mode of transportation Iron Man claims will be available to the public by Christmas.
However, the truth about the new Stark Hoverbike is revealed shortly after AIM attacks the event in this exciting first issue.
Iron Man’s New Armor Has Some Impressive Transformer-Level Features
Pursuing AIM after Pepper Potts is kidnapped (a ruse to draw Iron Man away from their real target), Tony activates the hoverbike’s secondary function as it seamlessly transforms into a full set of Iron Man armor.
Although Iron Man has used transforming tech before, a hoverbike-alt form is unique and all kinds of cool, an impressive mode of transportation that feels rather redundant given Iron Man’s typical flight capabilities with his suits, and yet is still something Tony Stark would absolutely create all the same.
By the issue’s end, readers are also introduced to the new Mark 75 armor, confirming that a Transformers-worthy hoverbike/armor combo is just the tip of the iceberg. As such, it’s going to be very exciting to see what new armor features we’ll be shown as this all-new Iron Man series continues from Marvel Comics.
Iron Man #1 is available now from Marvel Comics.
