Podcast host Joe Rogan apparently agreed with his guest, comedian Tom Segura, that President Donald Trump is “losing control” after the pair laughed at some of the president’s most controversial decisions in recent weeks, including his attempt to rename the Kennedy Center.

Key data

“Well, he’s losing it too, you can tell,” Segura said on Tuesday’s episode of the Joe Rogan Experience, to which Rogan responded, “Well, I think everyone does, when they get to a certain age, right?”

The two comedians laughed in disbelief at Trump’s renaming of the Kennedy Center and his major renovations to the Kennedy Rose Garden.

“There is nothing crazier than plaques under the names of presidents,” Rogan added, referring to the plaques installed on the new White House Presidential Walk of Fame that mock former presidents Barack Obama and Joe Biden, and then questioned “how are they allowed to do that?”

The two comedians also laughed at the plaque placed under the portrait of former President Ronald Reagan, which says he was a “fan” of Trump.

«It should be like a museum. “It should show the facts of his presidency, what happened during his tenure,” Rogan suggested.

Rogan also suggested that Trump needed a “right hand” to dissuade him from some of these more outlandish ideas, saying that “you can’t just let someone get carried away with it.”

What else did Rogan and Segura say about Trump?

Segura highlighted Trump’s advanced age. The president turns 80 in June. He was the oldest person to hold presidential office when he took office for his second term in January, and he will be 82 when he leaves office. Rogan attributed this in part to “the stress of going through what that guy went through, when they were trying to put him in jail, when they were after him with the Russia thing.” Rogan seemed to give Trump the benefit of the doubt, insisting: “They were trying everything they could to destroy him. That alone has to break your mind.” Rogan then veered into semi-conspiratorial territory, first insisting, “and then they shot him. Someone shot him, and then that guy died,” before veering off topic into bizarre details surrounding the assassination attempt during the 2024 presidential campaign at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania.

Key background

Rogan, stand-up comedian, UFC commentator and former “Fear Factor” host, hosts one of the most listened to podcasts. His show “Joe Rogan Experience” features long interviews with celebrities, comedians and more politicians in the run-up to the 2024 presidential election. Trump sat down for an interview with Rogan in October 2024, but Democratic candidate Kamala Harris never followed through with an interview of her own. On the eve of the 2024 election, Rogan gave Trump a belated endorsement after posting a clip of an interview with Elon Musk, who endorsed Trump. Although Rogan attended Trump’s inauguration in January, the podcast host has also criticized him several times over the past year, including over his administration’s deportation policies and handling of the Epstein files.
