Los Angeles (EFE) .- A judge dismissed a lawsuit filed by the producers of ‘Blade Runner 2049’ against Elon Musk and Warner Bros. for introducing parts of the film into an artificial intelligence program (AI) to promote a tesla ‘robotaxi’.

The Central California District Court reduced the scope of the complaint by positioning itself in favor of the defendants, and said that some claims can be examined that compete with the copyright of the science fiction film starring Ryan Gosling, according to the magazine Deadline.

The producer Alcon Entertainment filed a lawsuit in October, accusing Musk and her electric car company to improperly appropriate the film’s brand to promote her autonomous car in the presentation she made in Los Angeles.

The lawsuit also quotes Warner Bros. and Discovery as defendants, and states that Alcon had denied a Musk request and these companies to use images of ‘Blade Runner 2049’ as part of a marketing event on October 10 in the Warner studio.

The presentation did not use exact images of the film directed by Denis Villeneuve, but showed “images created by artificial intelligence (AI) that reflected scenes” of the Oscar -winning tape to the best visual effects and photography, according to the demand.

‘Blade Runner 2049’, a sequel to ‘Blade Runner’ (1982), was funded and produced by Alcon and released by Warner Bros. in 2017.

The film is starring the replicant K (Ryan Gosling) an android similar to the human being that lives in a postpocalyptic United States and conducts a totally autonomous car and artificial intelligence.
