Federal Judge Tanya Chutkan rejected on Tuesday the request to block the magnate Elon Musk and the Government Efficiency Department (Doge) access to executive data systems.
The magistrate of the District Court of the Columbia district spoke thus against the request made on February 13 by a coalition of prosecutors of 14 states of the United States.
The group claimed that Musk and Doge be prohibited from accessing sensitive and confidential information of the different agencies, making any change in the disbursement of public funds or canceling government contracts, among other points.
The Doge aims to reduce spending and bureaucracy in the federal government. With that pretext in these weeks since Donald Trump returned to power on January 20 has initiated the dismantling of the public apparatus.
The judge acknowledged that although the “unpredictable actions” of the Doge have caused a “considerable uncertainty and confusion”, the plaintiffs have not presented sufficient evidence that in case that access is not stopped there will be “imminent and irreparable damage” .
Musk had previously charged against federal judges for stopping his power and has asked for his dismissal. In addition, he has also assured without evidence of irregularities that federal workers were disappointed to taxpayers.
American media revealed on Monday that Doge is pressing to access personal personal information of millions of citizens.
