New York, (EFE) .- Karla Sofía Gascón, the actress of ‘Emilia Pérez’, will co-star the ‘psychological’ thriller ‘The Life Lift’ with actor Vincent Gallo, in what will be his first project after the controversy that exploded in January for offensive tweets he published years ago, according to Variety magazine.

In this film, directed by the Italian debutant Stefania Rossella Grassi, the Oscar nominated will play a psychiatrist who “embodies both God and the devil.”

Gallo, controversial director and protagonist of ‘The Brown Bunny’ and ‘Buffalo’ 66 ‘, will represent a tormented character who lives in a small New York apartment where he suffers a situation of harassment due to adhesive notes he found in the elevator of the building.

In the messages of these notes, he is ordered to commit murders of other tenants who, in turn, want to kill their relatives, according to the promotional material of the film that Variety collects.

At the Valentine’s Film Festival in Turin, Gascón had announced last week to the Italian press that would co -star the film with a rooster, but it had not been confirmed so far.

Speaking to Variety, the director said that the development of the film is advanced and will be shot between the end of this year and February 2026. He also specified that the film has a budget of approximately 3 million dollars.

The controversy surrounds the two protagonists of the new film, since, in the case of Gascón, the film awards season was fogged after they resurfaced politically incorrect past tweets.

Gallo, who has been prone to the controversy throughout his career, was wrapped once again in a scandal after his next movie
