Keller Williams Realty is changing up its executive leadership amid broader shifts in the brokerage business.
The Austin-based brokerage appointed a new chief financial officer and confirmed its chief operating officer.
KW named Tim Dieffenbacher as CFO, while Stacie Herron was appointed COO after serving in the role on an interim basis, a news release said. Herron will continue in her position as chief legal officer, a role she has held since 2021.
CEO Chris Czarnecki called the appointments “key leadership roles” that reflect Keller Williams’ growth ambitions and commitment to supporting its network of affiliated agents and market center leaders.
The appointments are the latest changes for the massive residential brokerage in the last year as it navigates a shifting brokerage landscape shaped by commission rule changes, agent attrition and intensified competition from tech-enabled and investor-backed firms.
Dieffenbacher joins KW from publicly traded REIT FrontView in Dallas. He’s a CPA with a background in capital markets and operational finance and previously worked alongside Czarnecki at Broadstone Net Lease and Broadstone Real Estate. He also worked at KPMG.
KW has few C-suite executives in the same roles they were a year ago. CEO Czarnecki is himself a newcomer, named president and CEO in early March after Mark Willis stepped out of the position in late January.
After decades of private, independent ownership, the brokerage two months ago sold an equity investment stake to CoreLogic parent Stone Point Capital. It remains uncertain what share of the ownership stake it sold or how much founder Gary Keller has retained.
Herron, who joined KW from a global real estate services firm, has held multiple leadership positions since 2021, including chief legal and people officer and chief administrative officer.
