The American actor Kevin Spacey said Tuesday that “it is nice to be back” in a awards ceremony outside the Cannes Film Festival.
Spacey, Oscar winner for “American Beauty” and “The usual suspects”, was one of Hollywood’s biggest stars before being accused for the first time of sexual assault in 2017, after which he was set out from the Netflix series “House of Cards.”
In 2022, the now 65 -year -old actor was accused in Britain of nine sexual crimes against four men between 2004 and 2013, but was acquitted of all the positions after a trial in 2023.
In the United States, Spacey won in 2022 in a case of sexual abuse after jury members in a civil trial in Manhattan considered that his accuser had not proven his statement that Spacey made him an unwanted sexual advance when he was 14 years old.
Spacey was in Cannes to receive a prize for excellence in cinema and television from Better World Fund, which collects funds on behalf of the “cinematographic art at the service of humanity”, at a beneficial gala dinner at the Carlton hotel. “I have had contact with so many friends, colleagues and distribution partners in the last week, since this award was announced, that I feel surrounded by support,” Spacey said before the act.

“I am happy to be working,” he added, when he was asked if his appearance marked a return. Spacey is also at the festival to help the British Camelot Films sell the action and conspiracy thriller “El Awakening”, in which he plays the character of Balthazar. Spacey has been civilly sued by three men for alleged sexual abuse in London.
The two -time Oscar winner by ‘American Beauty’ (1999) and ‘The usual suspects’ (‘usual suspects’, 1995), was one of the most respected actors in Hollywood until in 2017 the first of the accusations against him arrived.
These accusations meant their fulminating departure from several projects, such as the last season of the ‘House of Cards’ series.
He was subsequently acquitted of nine positions of sexual crimes in the United Kingdom and won a civil lawsuit in the United States after being accused of unwanted sexual hint at a party in 1986.
