The Costa Rican goalkeeper Keylor Navas arrived on the Mexican capital on Tuesday to undergo medical exams with the Pumas of the UNAM, with which the rest of the Opening 2025 tournament will play.
Navas, the best goalkeeper in the history of Concacaf, with great history in the best leagues in international football, will join university students to help them overcome the crisis in the start of the opening, in which they go in the last place with the worst defense, six goals received in two games.
Some fans dressed in the Pumas shirt went to the air terminal to receive the footballer, who won three times with Real Madrid the Champions League of Europe and was the leader of the selection of his country classified to the quarterfinals of the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.
At 38, Navas maintains the speed, reflexes and motivation to continue playing at the high level, confident in confirming his position as head of the national team of Costa Rica in the 2026 World Cup, which will be played in the United States, Mexico and Canada.

The goalkeeper comes from the Newell’s Old Boys from the Argentine League and it is expected that, after passing the medical check -up, he will report to Los Pumas, with which he could debut next Friday against the humble Querétaro, penultimate of the position table with two losses in two games.
Keylor Navas arrives in Mexico in a year in which some figures of great experience arrived in the league, headed by the Spanish defense Sergio Ramos, 2010 world champion with his country, leader of the Rayados de Monterrey, and excommunicator of his at Real Madrid.
