King Carlos III, on a symbolic visit to show his support for Canada at a time when he faces threats of annexation from the United States, his love for the country expressed on Tuesday and said he will remain “strong and free.”

Carlos III, head of state of Canada, is the first British monarch in almost 70 years that presides over the opening of the Canadian Parliament.

Carlos III does not refer direct on Trump in his speech in Canada

In a speech, Carlos referred to the “country that the Canadians and I loved so much”, but did not make any direct reference to the president of the United States, Donald Trump, which imposed tariffs on Canadian exports and Cavila about the possibility of converting Canada into state 51.

“The true north is really strong and free,” said Carlos, referring to the Canadian national anthem.

The speech in which government plans for the next legislature were written was largely written by officials working for Prime Minister Mark Carney, but Carlos was responsible for comments on his love for Canada.
