The president of the American Society, Larry Rubin, warned that for the United States, priorities are to combat drug trafficking and stop undocumented migration, so to maintain the bilateral relationship, Mexico has to assume a cooperation commitment to address these priorities.

Larry Rubin emphasized that it is a crucial moment for the relationship between Mexico and the United States, a period without a doubt full of opportunities, but that requires strategic collaboration and, in the same way, determined by the new administrations in both countries, both President Donald Trump, as President Claudia Sheinbaum.
“They provide us with an invaluable option to consolidate our alliances and work together for the prosperity of our societies. Today more than ever strengthening links between both governments is a priority. The relationship between Mexico and the United States needs to focus on trade, security, migration and tourism, issues that require attention, ”he said.
The president of the American Society indicated that Mexico and the United States must seek to consolidate and strengthen their bilateral relationship, ensuring that cooperation continues to generate investments and opportunities that benefit both economies and both communities.
Therefore, understanding that the two strategic priorities for the United States are the fight against organized crime and undocumented migration, in recent weeks the American Society has had key conversations with strategic actors in the United States who have expressed their willingness to work with Mexico in this new stage.
Among the meetings, one stands out with the Governor of Texas, Greg Abbott, in which the importance of strengthening border infrastructure and expediting customs processes, as well as exploring new investment opportunities in strategic sectors.
“Governor Abbott reaffirmed the role of Texas as the main commercial partner of Mexico and highlighted the need to continue promoting joint projects in security, transport and industrial development,” Rubin said.
He added that he also spoke with the United States Secretary of State, Marco Rubio, who stressed that he will prioritize the strengthening of region’s security, the fight against drug trafficking and immigration control.
“We share with him the importance of a relationship based on joint laws for strengthening the security of the region, the fight against drug trafficking and immigration control; In addition to maintaining stability in bilateral trade, we share with him the importance of a relationship based on joint strategies and emphasizes how Mexico has proven to be a reliable partner in these issues, ”said Larry Rubin.
