Lincoln Property Company has hired longtime Cushman & Wakefield executive Tyler Courtney to lead its national brokerage platform, though he’ll remain based in Atlanta, not Texas.
Courtney joins Dallas-based Lincoln as executive managing director of national brokerage, CoStar reported. The newly created role places him in charge of expanding the firm’s leasing operations across the U.S. He previously served as managing principal of Cushman & Wakefield’s Atlanta office, where he oversaw a 550-person team and led the city’s second-largest commercial brokerage by deal volume.
The hire marks a notable leadership shift for both firms. It’s not yet clear who will replace Courtney at Cushman.
At Lincoln, Courtney will oversee efforts to grow the company’s third-party brokerage portfolio, with an eye toward institutional client relationships and expansion across office, industrial, healthcare, retail and data center sectors. Lincoln manages or leases more than 562 million square feet nationwide and has completed over 164 million square feet of development since its founding.
Courtney joins Lincoln at a time when office leasing momentum is ticking up in some markets, but fundamentals remain uneven, according to CoStar.
He plans to spend the coming weeks visiting Lincoln’s major offices, including Dallas, Boston and Washington, D.C., to understand local strategies and begin recruiting brokers to support the platform’s growth.
Lincoln Co-CEO David Binswanger said Courtney’s role is focused on scaling the company’s brokerage services nationally while bolstering local leasing operations in key markets.
The hire comes as Lincoln looks to position its services business for scale amid ongoing market shifts and investor demand for streamlined leasing support across asset types.
