The Spanish coach, Luis de la Fuente, has been chosen for the second consecutive year as the best coach of men’s national teams in the world according to the International Federation of Football History and Statistics (IFFHS).
De la Fuente has led the 2025 ranking with 136 points, ahead of the also Spanish Roberto Martínez, current coach of Portugal, and the Argentine Lionel Scaloni, winner of this award in the 2022 and 2023 editions, reported the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF).

Spain, which closed 2025 as number one in the FIFA rankings, confirmed this year its qualification for the 2026 World Cup in the United States, Mexico and Canada and surpassed the best historical record of unbeaten national teams by going 31 official matches without knowing defeat.
The La Rioja coach (Haro, 1961) has led the senior Spanish team since 2022 and as its leader he was proclaimed champion of the Nations League in 2023 and of the Euro 2024 in Germany.
