If the president of the United States, Donald Trump, really wants to win the Nobel Peace Prize, has to stop the war in Gaza, his French couple, Emmanuel Macron, said on Tuesday.
Speaking to the French chain BFM TV from New York, Macron said Trump is the only one who has the power to press Israel to put an end to war.
“There is a person who can do something about it, and he is the president of the United States. And the reason he can do more than us, it is because we do not supply weapons that allow war in Gaza. We do not supply teams that allow war to be made in Gaza. The United States does,” Macron said.

Trump delivered a combative and extensive speech on Tuesday before the United Nations General Assembly in which he rejected the initiatives of Western allies to support a Palestinian State, stating that this would be a reward for Hamas.
Macron commented Trump’s speech: “I see an American president involved, who has reiterated this morning from the podium: ‘I want peace. I have resolved seven conflicts’, who wants the Nobel Peace Prize. The Nobel Peace Prize is only possible if this conflict is put an end,” said Macron.
Several countries, including Israel, Pakistan and Cambodia, have proposed to Trump for the prize to mediate in peace agreements or high fire. The president himself has said that he deserves the award, granted by Norway, who received four predecessors from the White House.
