The Venezuelan president, Nicolás Maduro, thanked on Monday all the “demonstrations of solidarity” in rejection of the statements of the United States Attorney General, Pam Bondi, who accused the Chavista leader of being one of the largest drug traffickers and announced a reward of 50 million dollars in exchange for information that leads to his arrest.

“I want to thank those beautiful demonstrations of solidarity, company, national union, perfect and cheerful fusion, popular-military-political, which have occurred throughout the country,” Maduro said.

In his weekly program, transmitted by the Venezuelan state television channel (VTV), the president also thanked the support of the military and police bodies, which, they stressed, have arranged their “armament” at the service of the “cause of peace”.

“I want to thank all the military forces, the Bolivarian National Armed Forces, to all its components (…) that have gone to face for the peace and sovereignty of Venezuela,” said Maduro, who also thanked the support of the public powers.

This Monday, hundreds of Chavistas mobilized in Caracas and several regions of Venezuela in support of Maduro to what they pointed out as “stupid threats” of the United States.

Authorities such as the Executive Vice President, Delcy Rodríguez, the president of the National Assembly (AN, Parliament), Jorge Rodríguez, and the mayor of the Libertador municipality of Caracas, Carmen Meléndez, accompanied this mobilization, in which public sector workers and a group of motorcyclists also participated.

In recent days, Parliament, the National Electoral Council, the Supreme Court of Justice -all controlled by officials related to Chavismo -, the Prosecutor’s Office, the Bolivarian National Police and other State institutions have ruled in rejection of the US reward, which doubles the one offered last January.

Last Thursday, the US attorney general shared on social networks a video in which she described the reward as “historical” and told Maduro as a threat to the security of the American nation.

Bondi accused the Venezuelan ruler to use “foreign terrorist organizations such as Sinaloa and the Sunal poster to introduce lethal drugs and violence” in the US.

The prosecutor also revealed that the Department of Justice of her country has seized more than 700 million dollars in assets supposedly linked to Maduro, as well as two private planes and nine vehicles.
