The Secretary of the Navy (Semar) announced on Friday the dismantling of a clandestine laboratory of drug trafficking of 395,000 square meters in the town of Carrizalillo, in the northern state of Zacatecas, where synthetic drugs such as methamphetamines were manufactured.

“With this assurance, the production of 27,930 kilograms of methamphetamine was avoided, equivalent to 698,250,000 doses,” said Semar in a statement.

The agency explained that in the complex in the Sierra de Zacatecas they secured 36 reactors, 56 drums, 65 tubs, nine mixers, 77 gas tanks, 209 drums, four motorogeners, 62 capacitors, 94 burners and diverse material.

All this, located in the areas destined to the storage of pre-prolCs, synthesis of chemical pre-breeders, as well as crystallization and drying.

Also, in the pre-precursors storage area they seized approximately 63,100 liters of different substances, among which Benchilo chloride stands out, as well as 125 kilograms of caustic soda.

While in the area of ​​synthesis of chemical precursors 10,950 liters of different substances were located, as well as 15,950 kilograms, the most found substance being tartaric acid.

According to the Navy, the Mega Laboratory was located during land surveillance patrols with the support of the National Defense Secretariat (Defense), the Attorney General’s Office (FGR), National Guard (GN) and the Ministry of Citizen Security and Protection (SSPC).

He recalled that so far from the current presidency of Claudia Sheinbaum, which began on October 1, 2024, the Mexican Navy has achieved the assurance of approximately 34,232 kilograms of methamphetamine, 202,907 liters of chemical precursors and 122,598 kilograms of chemical precursors.

In the government of Andrés Manuel López Obrador (2018-2024) the Armed Forces confiscated more than 8,000 kilograms of fentanil, with almost 2,329 kilos confiscated in 2023, an increase of 455% compared to 491 kilos of 2019.
