Mexico City, (EFE) .- Mexican meat producers lamented the decision of the United States government to close the border to the export of cattle due to the detection of a new case of a bowering worm in Veracruz.

The Mexican Association of Meat Producers (AMEG) recognized the technical commitment of the Mexican authorities to face the situation derived from the presence of this plague in national territory.

He also endorsed his support for the sanitary guidelines established to guarantee the traceability, safety and healing of livestock in transit to the United States.

Jesús Brígido Colonel, president of the AMEG, reaffirmed the commitment of meat producers to collaborate with the authorities, he said, they have the necessary capabilities and infrastructure to detect, isolate, treat and cure inside their pens any animal infected with the bare -bare worm.

“And thus contribute to the decrease in cases and stop the propagation of the barakeous worm in the country,” he emphasized according to a statement.

The organization considered that it is key that in a comprehensive strategy of combating this plague there are two main elements: monitoring and combating the environment.

“The identification of the baranger worm in a new town in the country is a sign of the relevance and functioning of the monitoring. That is why inspections and mobilization adjustments have been strengthened to the point of having clarity where sprouts are being presented,” they considered.

And they pointed out that actions to combat contagion are currently “are much more precise and focused.”

According to the North American institution, this case was located approximately 257 kilometers north of the sterile fly dispersion area in eastern Mexico and 595 kilometers from the border with the United States.
