Mexico City, (EFE) .- The Mercado Libre firm launched on Monday the ‘click’ initiative designed to train cooperatives, social economy companies, micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) and ventures that produce food and drinks made in Mexico, with local identity.

This to take advantage of the opportunities of electronic commerce and digitalize their businesses, thus connecting sellers and buyers throughout the country, while driving digital inclusion and contributes to economic growth.

In a statement, Mercado Libre said that this program “seeks to provide an accompaniment, with training, mentoring, digitalization tools and real cases to learn from other local companies that are already transformed its business through electronic commerce.”

In addition, he said, it is a program that is designed to help advance to each venture based on its real context and the potential they have.

“In Mercado Libre we believe in the transforming power of electronic commerce (…) and through ‘Click’ we want to accompany small businesses and Mexican producers in their digital transformation,” Adriana Prieto, Sustainability Manager in Mercado Libre Mexico, said in the note.

They also explained that at the close of the call, the selected projects will receive a free and personalized diagnosis that will evaluate the preparation of their business to sell online, in addition to recommendations to strengthen their commercial strategy.

Subsequently, they will access a practical training process with technical accompaniment, facilitated in alliance with FIBO Foundation, which will include content on digitalization, electronic commerce and logistics in the free market ecosystem.

Also ‘click’ will give recognition to the most prominent ventures and will provide these projects access to the benefits of the ‘Meli’ ecosystem, with the aim of enhancing their sales within the platform.

Among the requirements are a MSME, Cooperativa, company of the Social Economy or Entrepreneurship with 100 % Mexican production; Have a proposal in food, drinks or products with local identity and have a willingness to learn and transform digitally.

The call goes from July 21 to August 15, 2025 and the beginning of the program will take place on September 1, 2025, while the closure will be on December 5, 2025.

The firm indicated that the initiative is part of the actions that Mercado Libre promotes as part of the “voluntary agreement for the increase in products made in Mexico at points of sale for final consumers” signed last May together with the Government of Mexico and other companies in the Commerce sector.

In Mexico, nine out of ten companies are MSMEs and this program is published along with other joint efforts between the Government and the Association of Banks of Mexico (ABM) to promote these companies with credit, within the framework of the so -called Mexico Plan that seeks to reposition the national platform and locate the country among the first 10 economies of the world.

The agreement seeks to strengthen the domestic market, boost national production and promote the consumption of products elaborated in the country, to contribute to a productive integration strategy that connects small and medium -sized Mexican companies with greater national demand.
