The leading S&P/BMV IPC index gained 0.72% to 65,990.51 points this Friday, according to preliminary closing data, after having reached a new milestone of 66,152.73 units during the day.
The securities of the mining company Grupo México led the increases, with 3.38% more to 182.21 pesos, followed by those of the insurance company Quálitas, which added 2.96% to 179.80 pesos.
The Mexican stock market advanced to new historical highs during the day, driven mainly by a solid performance by firms in the mining sector, while investors assimilated an expected employment report in the United States.
