The Mexican Stock Exchange (BMV) recorded an advance of 0.74% this Friday, accumulating a weekly gain of 1.63%, tying two weeks of advances and its main indicator, the Price and Quotation Index (IPC) stood at 67,141.11 units, reaching a new historical maximum.
“The CPI of the BMV closed the week with a gain of 1.63%, making two weeks of progress and reaching a new historical maximum of 67,141.11 points,” the director of Economic and Financial Analysis of Banco Base, Gabriela Siller, told EFE.
Within the market, the specialist added, the progress of the stations stood out: Orbia Advance (+9.88%), Banorte (+8.73%), Industrias Peñoles (+7.93%), Grupo México (+6.03%) and Megacable (+5.82%).
Enrique Covarrubias, director of Economic Analysis of the financial group Actinver, highlighted that, with this movement, the accumulated performance for 2026 is +4.4%.

“Of the 35 stations that make up the IPC, 18 registered gains compared to the previous Friday,” said the expert, who added that Becle, OMA and GAP “concentrated the most notable declines.”
On the day, the peso appreciated 0.06% against the dollar, trading at 17.64 units per greenback, compared to 17.65 on the previous day, according to data from the Bank of Mexico.
The volume traded in the market reached 240.5 million securities for an amount of 17,404 million pesos (about 987.4 million dollars).
Of the 716 firms that traded on the day, 290 ended with their prices rising, 396 had losses and 30 closed unchanged.
The securities with the greatest upward variation were those of the brewer Anheuser-Busch InBev (ANB), with 3.34%; of the logistics company Grupo Traxión (TRAXION A), with 3.07%, and of the telecommunications giant América Móvil (AMX B), with 2.79%.
In contrast, the largest downward variations were from the domestic products company Grupo Vasconia (VASCONI), with -10.99%; from the Mexican Restaurant Corporation (CMR B), with -5.23%, and from the Inter-American Entertainment Corporation (CIE B), with -4.38%.
