President Claudia Sheinbaum said that despite three years of drought, Mexico has fulfilled a water treaty with the US to the measure of the availability of the liquid.
In responding to a claim by President Donald Trump, the president reported that yesterday he sent the Department of State for a proposal to meet the sending of water to Texas within the 1944 Treaty, which includes very short -term actions.
“There have been three years of drought and, to the extent of water availability, Mexico has been fulfilling. The International Limit and Water Commission has continued work to identify favorable solution options for both countries,” he said on the social network X.
He added that he instructed the Secretaries of Agriculture and Foreign Relations, as well as the Secretary of the Environment who communicate with the Ministry of Agriculture and the US State Department to meet the issue.
