In April, 47,442 formal jobs were lost in Mexico, which the IMSS attributed to the effect of Holy Week, which this year fell in the fourth month of the year.

However, the area of ​​economic analysis of the Base Financial Group indicated that when reviewing the previous 10 years, and omitting the atypical 2020 by the pandemic, in the months that corresponded Holy Week, formal employment grew on average by 44,607 positions.

Base added that it is the first destruction of employment for an April since 2020 (-555,247 positions), and that before that year, the last time I was lost employment in April was in 2009 (-60,218).

The IMSS detailed in a statement that as of April 30, 22 million 417,668 jobs were registered, of which 87% were permanent and the rest eventual.

He added that at the end of April a million 47,376 patterns were registered, a 2.5% drop at an annual rate.

He indicated that the average contribution base salary of the jobs affiliated with IMSS reached an amount of 621.9 pesos.

“This salary presents the highest figure in history, in its annual comparison, a nominal change of 7.6% (seven point percent), the fifth highest recorded of the last twenty -three years
Considering only the months of April and, since January 2019, the contribution base salary maintains annual nominal increases equal to or greater than 6%, ”he said.
