Mexican authorities claimed to have no information about the alleged attack against the Israeli ambassador to the country, Einat Kranz-Neiger, which Tel Aviv reported this same day.
“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (SRE) and the Ministry of Security and Citizen Protection (SSPC) report that they do not have any report regarding an alleged attack against the Israeli ambassador in Mexico,” indicated the note signed by the two entities.
This Friday, the Israeli Foreign Ministry published a statement thanking the Mexican security services for having dismantled “a terrorist network directed by Iran” that intended to attack Kranz-Neiger last summer.
According to information from the American media Axios, the operation would have been directed by a unit of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard that for years has recruited agents throughout Latin America “from the Iranian embassy in Venezuela.”
Subsequently, the United States also pointed out Iran for being behind this operation and condemned Tehran’s “abhorrent international plots.”
The Mexican Foreign Ministry reiterated “its willingness to maintain fluid communication with all accredited diplomatic representations” in the country, according to the statement from the SSPC and the SRE.
