Mexico City, (EFE) .- The Government promised on Monday “immediate water transfers” to the United States in the agreement that they reached to resolve the controversy over the 1944 Water Treaty and before the warning of sanctions of President Donald Trump.
“Mexico has agreed with the United States to carry out a series of measures with the objective of mitigating the missing potential in the water deliveries of Mexico towards the end of the cycle, providing immediate water transfers,” said a joint statement of the Secretariats of Foreign Relations, Environment and Agriculture.
With this, the units confirmed the announcement of the State Department, which reported on the agreement this Monday after the warning of Trump, on April 10, of tariffs and sanctions to Mexico for “violating” the Water Treaty and must be more than 1.6 billion cubic meters of water to Texas.
